Questions

Who has to comply with the European Accessibility Act?

Since 28 June 2025, many products and services offered to consumers in the EU — including online shops, banking services, e-books and transport ticketing — have to meet accessibility requirements. Micro-enterprises providing services (fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of at most €2 million) are exempt. Each country has its own law, for example the BFSG in Germany. Whether your business is covered is a legal question — please check with your advisor.

What do automated checks find?

Typical problems such as missing alternative text, low colour contrast, unlabeled form fields, buttons without names, missing page language and invalid ARIA. These are also the barriers that are easiest to spot from the outside.

Is this a certificate of compliance?

No. EAA Watch is a technical testing tool. It helps you find and fix issues; it does not certify that your website complies with the law.

Do you install a widget or overlay on my site?

No. Overlays don't fix the underlying code. We show you exactly which elements to fix.
